How do you measure effectiveness?
Many orthopedic conditions can be treated with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). However, experts explain that "not all PRP systems are created equal" and have recently identified four factors that bolster the effectiveness of PRP. Experts have identified the following characteristics as the optimal PRP formulation:
1. Red blood cells with minimal red numbers (RBCs).
2. Minimal neutrophils
3. Maximum monocytes
4. Maximum lymphocytes
This is the best formulation of PRP. However, there are many other PRP preparations that do not meet these requirements. Understanding how PRP preparation systems work can help us determine which one provides the best product.
